Letter to Bogrei Nativ

Dear Bogrei Nativ,

Thank you so much for the warm welcome to this special community I have received from you as I have begun my time with Nativ.  I always love to hear from your experiences on Nativ, and if you would ever like to zoom to get to know one another better or to visit Beit Nativ on your next visit to Jerusalem please write me an email at liben@uscj.org – I would love to meet you!

Nativ 41 is a unique group – after spending two years at home during the pandemic, they have taken every opportunity given to them in Israel to explore, grow and learn.

And they are resilient!  Even after landing to a seven-day quarantine period and overcoming two rounds of “Nativacron,” they continue to thrive in Israel.

This year we have started some new initiatives on Nativ like our Religion and State Seminar in a partnership with the WZO, Masorti Movement, and Mercaz Olami.  Nativers delved into the complexities of egalitarian Judaism in a country without a separation of religion and state and met Members of Kneset and Social Activists working at the forefront of these topics.  We also piloted an Israeli Mechina twinning program with Masa and the Jewish Agency in which Nativers are meeting Israeli counterparts through tiyulim and discussions about Jewish identity.  This past Shabbat we joined the Mechina at their home in the Golan for a Shabbat filled with games, tfilot, limudim and of course a Nativ-a-tisch!

If you are not already doing so, follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see what Nativers are up to – you are our biggest fans and your continued enthusiasm for Nativ helps spread the word for more young adults spend a transformative year in Israel.

Happy Passover,

Sara Miriam
